January 2004:

January 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th- 4 pm- 7 pm with Barbara Altz teaching an acting class in scene study.

January 7th- Hobe Sound Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting at the museum at 2 pm.

January 18th, 19th, 20th, 25th, 26th, 27th- Frank Eberling teaching a class in low budget independent filmmaking.


February 2004:

February 2nd, 3rd, 4th- Frank Eberling teaching a class in low budget independent filmmaking.

Sunday, February 8th, 15th and 22nd: from 4pm until 7pm “Scene Study” taught by Barbara Altz, will comprise of acting classes and developing a role. A memorized one-minute monologue is recommended for the January 4th class. This series will be comprised of four three-hour classes. All three classes will cost $150. Barbara has studied with some of the best instructors in the field including Stella Adler, Jeff Corey, and at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles . She has worked as an actress, instructor and a director.

February 15th, 16th & 17th- Frank Eberling will begin a course on “Documentary Filmmaking”. These classes will be conducted between 7P.M. – 10 P.M. Frank Eberling has been an award-winning filmmaker and educator for over thirty years. He has made over three thousand documentary films and produced and written low budget independent films that have been distributed worldwide. A guest speaker will conduct the class on the 16th. The cost for this series of three classes is $150.



March 2004:

Monday, March 1st & Tuesday, March 2nd from 6:30pm-9:30pm Cooper Getschal Creative Director of the Write Note Foundation will be conducting an in depth audio workshop. Areas covered will include how to produce and record edit and mix a professional sound recording for film or TV. In this class you will learn and understand modern audio production techniques and be introduced to some of the latest computer programs used in the industry. Cooper is a multi-platinum songwriter vocalist and audio technician who has worked extensively in the music industry. He is an educator, audio engineer and is a member of SAG and AFTRA. This class will be conducted at Coopers sound studio at 419-B Clematis Street in West Palm Beach . The cost of this class is $100 for both nights.

March 14th, 15th, 16th- Frank Eberling will teach a class in screenwriting. We will have a guest speaker on Monday the 15th.

March 14th, 21st and 28th- Barbara Altz will teach her acting class in scene study.

March 23rd- Charles Nelson Reilly will conduct a three-hour seminar, from 7 pm- 10 pm, on acting to benefit the museum's educational programs. Tickets are $100.

March 24th-Charles Nelson Reilly will perform his one man show at the Edward M. Eissey Campus Theater at the Eissey campus of Palm Beach Community College beginning at 7:30 pm. For tickets, call the museum at (561) 743-9955.

May 2004:

Sundays, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 & June 6, 7:00 - 10:00 P.M. - Acting/Scene Study class with instructor Marc Durso. Classes focus on the first three exercises of the Hagen Object Exercise program developed by legendary Broadway actress and Master Teacher Uta Hagen. Through scene work and in-class exercises, students will investigate and implement Uta Hagen's concept of developing Truthful Human Behavior as the as the basis of all professional, creative acting technique. Mr. Durso is a graduate of the Burt Reynolds Institute for Theatre Training, and has directed in Los Angeles , New York and Miami , assisting directors Tony Stephens, Ann Reinking, Alan Arkin and Charles Nelson Reily. The price is $250 for the course.

Mondays, May 3, 10, 17, 7:00-10:00 P.M. - Independent filmmaking course with award-winning filmmaker and educator Frank Eberling. In his career spanning over thirty years, Mr. Eberling has made almost three thousand documentary films, and written and produced many independent films in worldwide distribution. His experience and expertise is an invaluable tool for the aspiring filmmaker. The price is $150 for the course.

Tuesday, May 11, 7:00 - 10:00 P.M. - Cinematography lecture with instructor Nick McLean. Mr. McLean is an accomplished cinematographer in both television and film including the hit television show "Friends." Tickets are $75.

The museum has created new programs this season that is sure to peak the interest of many folks interested in the arts. The following groups meet at the museum once a month and the public is invited to attend for a $3 admission fee, volunteers are free.

Monday, November 8 Music forum that includes lectures, discussions and performances of our musician members.

Tuesday, November 9Poet’s Society meets for lectures or reading poems submitted by our members

Monday, November 29 Playwright Society meets for lectures or readings of plays or screenplays submitted by one of our members.

Tuesday, November 30 Artist Medium for lectures and discussions on painting and drawing.

The museum also conducts classes in filmmaking, acting and special classes on subjects relative to our monthly forums.
