Documentary Filmmaking Class - Sunday, October 19
After the completion of Mr. Reynolds
"Master Acting Class" there was a big demand
for more educational opportunities at The Burt Reynolds
& Friends Museum. Due to this demand the museum
offered an in depth lecture series on "Producing
a Documentary Film." The class offered a step-by-step
study in the production of a documentary and included
information on: Choosing and researching your subject,
Your targeted market, Deciding format, How to get
funding, Pre-production, Production, Post-production
(focusing on editing), and How to market your film.
The cast of instructors included Frank
Eberling who for more than 40 years has written, shot
and directed many award winning documentaries.
Shane Phillips - Editor of Thunderhead Productions
of Palm Beach.
Jim Lewis shared his experience as a camera operator
on many Hollywood sets including Evening Shade, Cybil,
Cannonball Run and Sharkey's Machine to name a few.
Other presenters included Chris Conway who is a sound
expert, the Palm Beach County Film Office and other
experts in the field of filmmaking.
The workshop consisted of ten (10) three
hour-long classes beginning Sunday, October 19 from
7 to 10 pm, running Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.
Cost for the series is $400. Under the Willie E. Gary/Burt
Reynolds Outreach Program scholarships for this class
were available for qualified financially disadvantaged
students.
