Master Acting Classes-
March 31, 2003

The Burt Reynolds and Friends Museum opened February 9, 2003 and launched its first educational program on March 31, when Mr. Reynolds personally taught the first master class in acting for film, television and theater. The class was limited to eighteen professional actors ages 18 years and older. Cost for Actors was $1,000. Auditing the class cost $500.

The Master Acting Class began March 31 and was held three evenings a week for three consecutive weeks. Classes began promptly at 7 p.m. and ran for four or more hours. One student said, "Mr. Reynolds is so dynamic we forget about time. We leave wishing we didn't have to go."

Classes were held on a stage situated in the middle of the beautiful Burt Reynolds and Friends Museum. Students were surrounded by Mr. Reynolds lifetime collection of interesting signed photos and memorabilia from his illustrious career, as well as those from some of the world's most famous personalities.

Master Acting Class II -
June 9, 2003

On June 9th, the Burt Reynolds & Friends Museum held the second series of the Master Acting Class. The class was comprised mostly of students from the first Master Acting Class. Classes were held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for three weeks, beginning Monday, June 9 at 7 P.M. The dates of the classes were June 9, 10, 12, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24 and 26.

The acting class was limited because most of Master Acting Class I signed up immediately for this class. There was, however, ample opportunity to monitor the class as an auditor. In this capacity students observed the entire class and participate in question and answer sessions. Selected acting students were paired with a scene partner and given reading and acting assignments in preparation for the class. Several auditors from the Master Acting Class I were enrolled as actors in Master Acting Class II.
