Education Overview
Outreach Program - June 8, 2003
Burt Reynolds and Friends Museum created a new outreach program for high school aged students. This program targeted high
school seniors with acting talent and experience, who are not financially able to further their acting skills by going on to college or a school of higher learning. Half the class attended on full or partial scholarships funded by donations received from community sponsors. The Willie Gary/ Burt Reynolds scholarship fund has since been established for disadvantaged acting students.
The 3 days a week, 3 weeks class was held at the museum on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays beginning June 8, with a Student Showcase on Friday, June 27. The performances by the students were outstanding.
